The Brighton Bulldogs are a part of the newly developing Inline Hockey High School Program at Total Sports
Complex in Wixom. The program has experience tremendous growth over the last several years and shows no sign
of slowing down. Total will support ten high schools with both JV and Varsity teams while two to four additional
high schools joining in the 2006 winter season. This growth has brought high level of competition
and excitement to all league games.
Effective September 1, 2005, Brighton along with Hartland, Howell, Novi and other KVC teams will
be forming the
KVIHA -- Kensington Valley Inline Hockey Association to be the governing body for the High School Program at
Total. This Association will provide leadership, administration/representation to the AAU to all its members. AAU will
provide insurance and a state wide High School Tournament each spring. Currently, Brighton's head coach, Joe Leugers, serves as the President of the Association while also serving as the AAU representative for
Total Sports Complex. Kathy Heath, the Brighton Inline Hockey program's manager serves on the board
as its Secretary.
Along with working on getting the KVIHA up and running, Coach Joe is working on getting Inline Hockey recognized
as a Club Sport at Brighton High School. Club Sport status give all the players an opportunity to be in the yearbook,
games announced on the PA systems and an opportunity to show their Bulldog pride.
So, come on out and enjoy a new growing sport that is fast
and exciting!
See you at Total!!
